The purpose of this newsletter section is to outline a change to our current system of members' accounts in the Professional Shop and how they are administered. Over the past 9-years we have not had an end date for account usage on a yearly basis, and unfortunately, due to how the current economic climate is trending, we have decided to change this and put a new system in place.

Members will have until the 31st March 2026 to use all monies on their shop accounts. This will be repeated year on year. If not used by this date, your account will be cleared to start afresh for the new season. Very similar to what currently happens with your bar and restaurant account at the club. I do, however, understand that there are members who use their shop accounts to save up for bigger purchases, i.e., a set of irons, driver, etc. and providing you pop in to see us and have a chat regarding this, there will be no issue in extending the credit on your account in the new financial year. All vouchers purchased from us will always have a 12-month expiry date from the date of purchase; this will not change.

The retail sector, as we all know, is changing, and it is without a doubt becoming more challenging given the current financial climate we are facing. However, our hope is that by introducing a yearly end date to customer accounts, it will encourage you all to make use of your shop account funds in making purchases in the shop. Thus, helping us with stock turnover and cash flow, particularly in the quieter months of the year, which, for the business, tend to be January, February and March. I have introduced a new till system that now sends out a monthly financial statement of your shop account. Please let me know if you have not received this. It could be that the email address that we have for you is not up to date. Since introducing this new system, we have had many a member pop in and say, 'I never knew I had that money on my account' This will aid in you noticing how much is in your account on a monthly basis and will hopefully encourage you to use your funds accordingly to purchase something new.

We will, of course, endeavour to help all customers where possible. I want to stress that this is not a case of me or my business wanting to take any money not used, but more a case of please use the shop and help us in maintaining the viability of the business. The past 2/3 years have been a struggle and costs, as we all know, are increasing year on year. As always, I very much appreciate your business and want to extend my thanks to you all for your support in this change.
