Last Saturday, 8 July, the Centenary Cup was competed for in some great weather, perfect for scoring. This certainly reflected in the results with some great scores being posted throughout the day. First place was Jay Houston with a great two-under-par 67, nett 65 to beat second-place Simon Berrie by a single shot with his nett 66. Third place was Scott Ireland with a score of 70, nett 67. These gents closely edged out another seven players on a score of nett 68. Some great scores posted guy, it is great to see so many getting the handicaps going the right way. Keep it up gents, well played! Wednesday and Saturday sweep
The Pro Shop sweeps are back. We are going to run a Wednesday and Saturday sweep every non-Medal competition day throughout the year. It will be open to anyone playing on those two days, male or female. Entry is entirely voluntary. Ideally, please let us know via email whether you will be taking part if you have a tee time booked that day or alternatively, we will be taking entries on the day. The competition rules will be set out as follows: - Entry will be £4 per player which will include two’s and sweep, entry of both will be compulsory. - Payment for entry will be accepted via cash (providing hand sanitiser is used prior to handling cash) or by contactless card payment. - All winnings will be paid onto your shop account if you either have a two or win. - The format will be Stableford, full handicap. - You will keep your own score and the score of your playing partner. No exchanging of scorecards. - Once you have completed your round you will verbally confirm your scores with each other. Again, no swapping or signing of cards. - Upon finishing the 18th hole and making sure that scores are correct, you will call them into the shop where a staff member will keep a record of scores and any twos.
