We hope you're well. It's fantastic to see that so many of you are enjoying playing golf once again. Long may this continue! Please remember that we are here to help with anything from a lesson or two, to providing some expert advice on new equipment. Give us a call on 01292 473904 and we'll be happy to help. Enjoy the read. |
Something rare could be yours! It's prize draws like these that we really enjoy running for our customers. Our friends at Titleist have given us one of these limited edition cart bags to give away as a prize to one lucky customer. To get your name in the hat, all you need to do is buy a dozen Titleist golf balls from us (see our website for T&Cs). It's as simple as that! At the end of the promotional period, we'll randomly draw out one lucky winner. Good luck. |

What could have been
A bit of a sad week for me this week as this Saturday 27th June would have been my 4th Pro’s Day at the club as Head Professional. Those of you who have taken part in previous years will know, that it is a very social and fun day out. Fingers crossed I might get something arranged for later in the year all being well. I hope that you have all enjoyed another golfing week and now that we have three balls allowed out on the course your games are getting a little more social again. We have a few new items arriving over the week or so please do keep an eye on our social media platforms for updates or pop your heads in if you are out for a game. |
There is a great special edition Titleist golf bag up for grabs in our new golf ball promotion which starts back up this week. All the info as stated above to enter. Please do contact us if you are looking for something, the support has been great to date and we are able to source product that we do not have on-site. Have a great week, Gareth |

Unofficial stableford
By the time this week’s newsletter gets released we should have already had our first unofficial stableford competition played. Thank you to that have taken part. There is one on Saturday and as well if you missed out due to work etc. Your support in this is as always much appreciated.
It will be open to anyone playing on Saturday, male or female. Entry is entirely voluntary. Ideally please let us know via email whether you will be taking part if you have a tee time booked that day or alternatively, we will be taking entries on the day. |
The competition rules will be set out as follows: • Entry will be £4 per player which will include twos and sweep, entry of both will be compulsory. • Payment for entry will be accepted via cash (providing hand sanitiser is used prior to handling cash) or by contactless card payment. • All winnings will be paid onto your shop account if you either have a two or win. • The format will be stableford, full handicap. • ‘Gimmes’ will be allowed from strictly putter grip length. To help speed up play. • You will keep your own score and the score of your playing partner. No exchanging of scorecards. • Once you have completed your round you will verbally confirm your scores with each other. Again, no swapping or signing of cards. • Upon finishing the 18th hole and making sure that scores are correct, you will call them into the shop where a staff member will keep a record of scores and any twos. |
|
Please bear in mind that these two competitions will be purely to have a bit of fun and to remember what it was like with a scorecard in your hand again. So, what if you get a bad lie in an unraked bunker, your ball lips out due to the hole depths being shallower. Let’s all be thankful to be back out playing golf in what hopefully, will be reasonable weather. |
Lessons are back
I have started back with lessons now but on a much smaller scale to start with due to current restrictions and the fact the Mark is still off at the moment. If you have not yet received a call and are on my list I will be in touch in due course. Thanks for your patience, I am working hard to get to you all as soon as possible. |
|
Custom fitting has now started
I am working my way through my custom fitting list. If I have not yet been in touch with you, rest assured I will be shortly. I am working my way through the list according to the order I have had enquiries. Please bear with me, I will get to you ASAP. |
Thank you once again for your patience.

Easing out slowly
Hopefully, the rules on entering the pro shop will get eased on Monday afternoon when Nicola makes her announcement. If there are any changes, I will endeavour to send out a special broadcast message regarding these. The only edition to this section, for now, is the addition of our new Twitter account for all those ‘Tweeters’ out there so please give us a follow. |

I am asking for your support with this as I know, having been in the retail side of the golf business for a long time now, how important it is for the customer to be able to see, pick up or feel a potential purchase. As mentioned in the pro’s news section, we will be asking for anyone wanting to make a purchase, where possible, to please call ahead and allow us to have it ready for your arrival. However, if you do arrive a touch early and would like to purchase something, we will still be able to do this for you as well.
Thank you so much for your support in this. |

Fashion has a greater place in golf now than ever before. From Major Champions to Sunday Stablefords, we’re seeing more and more unique, exciting looks on the golf course. But these styles aren’t restricted to the fairways… |
| Skechers Drive 4 golf shoes | With incredible performance advances in recent years, spikeless golf shoes have become commonplace on every course and in every clubhouse during the summer months.
Now that spikeless shoes can offer the same on-course performance as spiked golf shoes, perhaps it’s unsurprising.
|
| Skechers Max Rover golf shoes | When you can have shoes that are comfortable and look good wherever you go, why not?
Skechers’ most recent shoe ranges reflect that, with shoes like the Max Rover offering a more trainer-like look on the course or in the streets, and even shoes like the Drive 4 providing a smart, spikeless alternative to traditional golf shoes. |
