Hello Golfers,

With a week of mixed weather that included everything from sunshine to hail storms, it has been tricky to arrange golf and get out onto the golf course. However, hopefully most of you managed to get out and enjoy the quality of the course for this time of year.

Saturday saw the annual return of the 9 o’clock groups Christmas Golf Day after it was postponed in December. I was lucky enough to get an invite along to join the guys in a Texas Scramble and for a lunch afterwards. Luckier still, we managed to get a great day weather-wise which made it even more enjoyable. I made my contribution when I could but with some great golf from my partners, including some great wedge shots and holing out, saw us end up with a score of 55.3. We were pleased with our efforts, only to find we were beaten by two shots into first place. It was a brilliant turn out of 32 from the group who all seemed to enjoy a great format for a day like that. A big thanks to the 9 o’clock boys for inviting me along and to all of them who organised a really great day.

Hopefully, the weather picks up over the next few weeks and we can all get out and play more.

Layer up

Last week we talked about one of our favourite topics: rain! Whilst waterproof protection is key for staying dry when caught in a downpour, combining layers of clothing underneath is vital if you want to enjoy the warmth without being so restricted that you can’t complete your backswing.
