Welcome to the latest edition of our newsletter. I hope you have had a great week on and off the course. Enjoy the read! |
Jordan's Blog Hi folks, Another extremely busy week here at the club, with some difficult, wet and brezzey spells of weather with a Medal and Finals Day taking place. The results of these will be posted in the competition news section. However, we would just like to highlight Simon Berrie’s maiden win in the Club Championship Final defeating a very tough opponent in Sandy Buchanan. Sandy was looking to go back to back, having won the Club Championship the year before. He did put up a great battle, unfortunately could not outlast some extremely solid play from Simon, who took the tie on the 17th hole, with a great up and down from greenside, for birdie and to clinch the title. Congratulations Simon! |

It was also great to see so many of you also out following all the game on Finals Day and giving your support despite the cold and breezy conditions, I’m sure all players in the finals matches will have appreciated this support. Let’s hope the weather picks up over the next week so you can get out onto the course and play some golf. Have a good week’s golf! |

Autumn Meeting and Finals Day Yet again it was some extremely testing conditions for Saturday's Autumn Meeting with high winds throughout the day. Sadly none of the hole-in-one prizes were snapped up, but to be fair most people would have been struggling to hit the greens. Some great scores were returned however and the best was by George McKay who won via countback with a nett 67. Well done George. Alongside the medal competition this week, finals day took place on Sunday 15th September. This saw the other finals of the major annual competitions take place throughout afternoon. The Jubilee Bowl was competed for between Campbell Leckie and Jay Houston, the Coila Cup, between Gary McMeeking and Peter Gilchrist and the Senior Club Championship contested by John Ashton and Andrew Dunn.
|
|
The results were as follows: - Campbell Leckie beat Jay Houston - 3&2.
- Gary McMeeking beat Peter Gilchrist - 1 Up.
- John Ashton beat Andrew Dunn - 7&6.
Some great golf was on show and all the game were played in great spirit! Congratulations gents.

Goodbye laces. Hello Boa Technology in today's golf equipment continues to amaze us year-on-year, but it's not just our clubs that are making strides in the tech department. Believe it or not, golf shoes are some of the most advanced products in the market thanks to the evolution of the Boa Fit System, which is replacing traditional laces. Not only does it fasten your shoe, but when the Boa dial is on the heel of your shoe, it pulls your foot back and down to provide the perfect fit for extreme comfort and stability out on the course. |

It's great walking to the first tee with a new driver in hand (that's been custom fitted to suit your swing, of course) that you know will help you outdrive your playing partners, but sometimes it can be a simple change to the ball that you're using that has the biggest effect on your game. |
