Hi Folks,

With the cold weather and rain starting to come In we have a wide range of new winter products that have arrived in store. Pop in and have a look and our variety of waterproofs, pullovers and other essential winter products.

Gareth is away this week playing in the Scottish PGA championship, depending on results he will be back in the shop either on Wednesday or on Friday if he makes the cut. Let’s hope we don’t see him back till Friday.

Have you had a successful season? If not with the winter period coming upon us why don’t you think about getting a lesson package over the winter to work on the different aspects of your game. Gareth and yourself could discuss a winter plan and help your game improve in time for next seasons competitions.

Now is the Time

It might be easy to lose the motivation for golf in this type of weather but that makes it the perfect time to start working on your game so it’s ready for next season. Putting together a lesson plan for the winter period is the best way to make sure there aren’t any parts of your game letting you down.

Gareth offers individual 45 minutes lessons for £30 to get you started for some quick changes but if you want to work on your game over the winter the block of 6 lessons for the price of 5 (£150) is the best way to get a proper winter plan in place.

Are you struggling to score on the course or want to know what part of your game to start working on first? On course 9 hole lessons with Gareth are ideal for this as he can see hat you are doing on the course and suggest what you may need to change or even how to approach a certain shot. These can be booked for £60 or you can use two of your block lessons together.

Once you’ve worked on your game and feel like your swing is working well gapping sessions are also available. So many people don’t take enough club or don’t even know how far their clubs go so gapping for only £35 can help you hit more greens and save a lot of shots.

Prepare for winter

The winter golfing season is officially on us now as I’m sure you can all tell. The colder temperatures, wind and rain are now a daily occurrence and there is now no better time to get yourselves some new waterproofs and all weather gear.

There is nothing worse than going onto the course to battle the elements and end up soaked to the skin with no way to get dry or absolutely frozen to the bone.

What is the ruling?

Bird Flies off with Golf Ball. ... If it is known or virtually certain that a player's ball at rest has been moved by an outside agency, no penalty is incurred and either the original ball or another ball must be replaced at the spot that the ball was moved from, Rule 18-1

Do you need new spikes?

Winter brings with it rain, which makes the ground beneath your feet softer and more slippery. If your spikes are worn or even missing, keeping a stable base during your swing will be much harder and you'll be more prone to slipping. An ace week for Master Eddie

The British Masters took place at Walton Heath in Surrey last week and was hosted by the local favourite, Justin Rose. The tournament had a stark weather contrast from start to finish with conditions declining and making it a real grind for the players. The caddies were certainly tested during the final round trying to keep their players warm and dry. It was a day of umbrellas, waterproofs and wearing the correct layering, which at this time of year can help or hinder your round.

The tournament winner was Eddie Pepperell who dealt with the conditions the best and led from start to finish to claim a two shot victory. Eddie’s highlight of the week was his impressive hole in one on Thursday at the ninth hole, earning £20,000 for charity and a celebratory bottle of wine from the tournament host. Pepperell now moves up to 33rd in the world rankings and with it an invite to next year’s biggest tournaments including his first trip to The Masters at Augusta.

It's time for a change
