Hi Folks, It’s been a busy week at the club this week with the final club championship qualifier on Saturday and the tri am on Sunday. We got lucky with the weather for both competitions. Also the Roger Casket on Wednesday turned out to be a great success as it always is with a full field. Finally some good news on the golf course in the shop this week as Mark shot a great 71 less 6 to shoot nett 65 and finish 2nd in the medal. As for myself the poor run of form continued as I shot +7 round Linlithgow after being level for 16 of the holes. Fair to say my last few holes looked like the end of a phone number. Jordan also had the chance to play last week in the Ayr golf week. An eventful week it was for Mr Sweeney, an uninspiring 85(+14) in round 1 followed by a 79(+11) in round 2 gave him a total of +25 for the two rounds. Even with these two score he unbelievably managed to make the knockouts (I know we couldn’t believe it either). It had obviously been a long tough week for Jordan after hitting 164 shots in the qualifying round as he slept in for his knockout stage match on the Thursday. Back to the drawing board I think we would say. The shop also put a tri am team in on Sunday. We managed a team score of 57(-12) which was beaten by 5 teams. Not a bad effort for such an early tee off time. Gareth and I have both had an invite by Paul Lawrie to compete in his par 3 championship alongside former major champions and current European tour players. We will be playing in Aberdeen over Thursday and Friday. Hopefully both our forms pick up and we can put a couple of decent scores on the board. Hope you all have a great week and pop into the shop if you need any help or advice. Calum. |
