St Nicholas Junior Open review This years’ Junior Open was one of our most successful in a number of years with a total of 44 competitors taking part on the day. Players from as far as Royal Dornoch Golf Club travelled down to play in the field. With 3 junior opens in the local area being cancelled due to a lack of entries we were ecstatic to have as many kids take part in our open. The conditions on the day were tricky with a strong breeze playing a constant factor throughout the morning until a torrential downpour towards the end of the afternoon, caused the greens to flood in a matter of minutes, forcing the last remaining groups off the course and having to unfortunately cut their rounds short. Alyx Murray of Troon Welbeck took the top spot and won the trophy with a great score of level Par, 69. In second place scratch was Sean Addie of Ayr Bellisle with another great score of 74. The best scratch St Nicholas player was Connor Wills with a score of 82. Luke Greig took the best nett Prize with a great score of 81, nett 64, closely followed in second by Euan Ramsay with a score of 86, nett 68 on better inward half. Euan was also the best nett St Nicholas player. Well done to all the boys who played and we hope so see you all playing again next year. A big thank you to everyone who was involved with the organisation and execution of the junior open on the day. Thank you to everyone who paid to sponsor a hole on the day, it was very much appreciated from all of us. The day went as smooth and as well as it possibly could have, thank you everyone.
