Hi Folks,
Sadly we've not had the best of weather for golf this week with the high winds and heavy rain fall making a return after the spell of good weather we've had. It was definitely a culture shock after a week in Rome, sorry that I didn't bring any of the good weather back.
This week both Jordan and myself were playing in the Ayr Golf week in what I can say without doubt was some of the worst weather I have ever played in. We both managed to play well enough considering the conditions to qualify for the matchplay stages, myself in the handyside and Jordan in the scratch. Sadly Jordan had to withdraw due to an agreement we both made about who would work. Sadly I got beaten in the first round 3&2 in what was a tough match against both my opponent and the weather, looking back now I would rather have done the shift in the shop but I can take the positive of a handicap cut away for the week's golf.
To help you out against the returning traditional Scottish weather we have a great range of waterproof items from jackets and hats to even bags, so come in and have a look but hopefully the short sleeve weather with return quickly!
Hope you all have a great week's golf.
Mark.

Congratulations to
Mark McBlain who won last Wednesdays June Hourston Trophy with a fantastic nett 62 which also managed to cut his handicap by 3 shots, great shooting.
This year's Summer Meeting was decided on count back in division 1 between
Andy McIntyre and
George Hannah who both returned with fantastic nett 66s in Saturdays tough conditions.
Andy came in with the better inward half which contributed to a great scratch score of 71. Division 2 was won by
Mark Meney who carded a nett 68 for a one shot lead over
Martin McGahon. Well played in those conditions guys.
Also a shout out to
Jim Johnstone who won the Tam O'Shanter Trophy at the Ayr Golf week on Saturday. After starting his week with a scratch 65 to qualify in top place for the matchplay
Jim went on to win in the final with a dominant score of 6&5.
This week's ladies medal was foursomes format which saw
Susan Dumigan and
Anne McGillivray take home the Coronation Foursomes title. They scored a total of 31 points in what was an extremely testing day for those who took part.

For relief without penalty to be available, casual water must be visible before the player takes their stance.
A - True
B - False
Find out what the answer is in next week's newsletter.
Did you get the answer to last week's rule?
A player may replace or remove a divot which is folded over but not completely detached which interferes with his/her backswing.
A - True
B - False
Answer - B
Explanation: A divot which is not completely detached is not a loose impediment. It is something fixed and therefore its removal or replacement would be a breach of Rule 13-2 as the lie and area of intended swing would be improved.
A couple of weeks ago we had the product spotlight on our fantastic and extensive range of golf shirts but as the weather seems to have changed back for the worst at the moment why not protect yourself from the elements with one (or maybe two) of our stylish and functional windcheaters.
A windcheater is a great way to protect yourself from the harsh winds out on the links but as they are so light and designed for maximum movement they will not hinder your swing.
So why not pop in and get a windcheater to fend off the elements and also match that nice shirt you'll have bought.
We have a couple of promotions this week including the Garmin Father's day promotion as well at the Srixon golf ball performance packs.
Grab your father a bargain for Father's day or why not find out which Srixon ball suits your game the best.
