Hi everyone,
Continuing with the slightly different newsletter this week, I'm hoping to continue the high standard after Mark's first attempt last week. Again, please let us and Gareth know how I do, hopefully continuing the trend of a high quality newsletter.
As the season is now well and truly underway, we've been treated to a great spell of weather over the past few weeks and it's great to see so many of you taking advantage of it.
Each of us here in the shop have managed to play some golf in between shifts. Most notably, Gareth and three of the members took a trip to our reciprocal course, Lundin Links during the week. The course was in immaculate condition and with the continued great weather, their day out was thoroughly enjoyed. It doesn't look like Gareth has lost his touch with a golf club in hand as he fired a 2 under par 69 with only the 1 bogey on his card at the 15th. With some great scores in each of the 3 rounds he's played since coming back from his knee operation, it is clear to see that he knows what he's talking about and still has some skill on the course himself.
Have a great week everyone and I hope to see you all out enjoying the great weather on the course.

Gareth's first Pro's Day as Head Professional will be on the 23rd July, he's putting in a huge amount of effort to make this day a highlight of the St Nicholas calendar, please keep the day free for the chance to win some great prizes.
Wednesday's May Stableford competition was won by
Richard Armstrong with 39 points.
Jamie Houston and
Douglas McDonald also managed 39 points but were beaten on the count back.
Saturday's Spring Meeting saw
Alan Poole win in division 1 carding a brilliant level par 69, nett 67 to win on better inward half from
Paul Bryan and
James Kelman, also with nett 67's. This was clearly a popular score this week with another 4 players on the same score but lost out on countback.
Michael Dore took the division 2 category with a great score of nett 68.
Jack Quinn was runner up on better inward half with a nett 69 from
Richard Armstrong also on the same score.
Great playing gents, keep it up!
As I'm sure everyone is aware, the Callaway Custom Fitting Day took place on
Tuesday, 9 May and was a great success.
Euan Cameron, the Callaway rep, kindly gave up his time to come down and put on the session. It gave everyone the chance to get fitted for and try out all of the new season Callaway equipment, from the new Epic and Fusion Drivers to Steelhead and Apex Pro irons.
There was a great turnout, with 18 fitting sessions being held on the day.
Many thanks to everyone who attended.
Last weeks Ladie's Toni Porter Trophy was won by

Q. Annette plays a good shot to the 8th green; Unfortunately it falls short of the green and spins down towards the OOB posts in front of the quarry. Annette's ball is still in bounds but the white marker posts are interfering with her swing so Annette removes the white marker posts and plays her shot. Is this permissible?
Find out what the answer is in next week's newsletter.
Did you get the answer to last week's rule?
Q. Stephen, a new member to the club was playing in his first medal. On the first tee he made a stroke at the ball but missed it. He addressed the ball again and accidentally knocked it off the tee. What's the ruling?
Answer:
A. When Steven made a stroke at the ball, it was in play and Rule 11-3 no longer applied. When the ball in play moved after it was addressed, then Steven incurred a penalty stroke and was obliged to replace the ball. Rule 18-2b; Decision 11-3/1.
