Pros news

Hi Folks,

I hope you have all enjoyed a relaxed Easter weekend and that the Easter bunny was good to you all. It was a busy weekend at the club particularly on Sunday when the Easter Sunday lunch was in full flow, kids coaching was on, which included an Easter egg hunt and finally the mixed group had 45-50 participants in their end of winter competition who all attended a sit down meal after the golf. We were kindly invited to attend the sit down meal which was fantastic. Thank you to Malcom Bee for the kind invite.

Time and spaces are running out for the Callaway Fitting Day on Tuesday, 9 May starting at 4pm. If your name is not already down to attend then click here before time runs out!

As of Friday, 21 April the pro shop opening hours will be altering slightly.

Please have a look below to make sure that you are aware of the new opening and closing times.

Competition news

Congratulations go to Iain Gray who shot 84 nett 69 to win the 5-Club competition on Wednesday last week.

This past competition saw four disqualifications due to either not returning your score cards or failing to sign them after your round. Please take care after your rounds when returning your scores and make sure you sign your card.

Product spotlight

This week has seen the arrival of the new Skechers shoe range. These shoes are fantastic and extremely comfortable. We have the gents and the ladies versions available.

Pop in store to try a pair on and feel how comfortable they are for yourself.

We still have the latest Garmin rangefinder demo range to try out. The Approach X40, G30 and S20 are super range finders if you are looking to shave a few strokes off your scores.

If you thinking of investing in a range finder pop in and arrange a trial of one of the demo's. Take one out on the course and give it a try. Pop in store to book your demo experience.

Rule of the week

A player moves his ball that is at rest on the fairway when making his practice swing. The stroke counts.

A - True
B - False

Find out what the answer is in next week's newsletter.

Did you get the answer to last week's rule?

A player putts from 10 feet and his ball comes to rest overhanging the hole. He walks to the side of the hole and his ball falls into the hole 25 seconds later. The player is not subject to penalty.

A - True
B - False

Answer:

Correct answer: B

Explanation: The player incurs a penalty of one stroke. A player is allowed enough time to reach his ball without unreasonable delay and then an additional 10 seconds to determine if his ball is at rest. If the ball has not fallen into the hole it is deemed to be at rest. If it subsequently falls into the hole the player is deemed to have holed out with his last stroke but must add a penalty stroke to his score. See Rule 16-2.
