Hi Folks,
Well it looks like spring has finally sprung with a fantastic weekend of golfing weather this past weekend. Let's hope it continues. With the new golfing weather kicking in why not have a look in your golf bag & see what's needing done before you get out golfing more.
Are you using the correct gear? Have your clubs been custom fitted for you? Are you making the game more difficult for yourself with wrongly fitted clubs? Have you ever been fitted for a set of clubs?
We all love a bargain but at what cost? With wrongly fitted clubs you are sacrificing distance, control and consistency of strike. Booking a session with me on The FlightScope launch monitor will open your eyes as to how much of a difference a correctly fitted club can make. A custom fitting costs just £35 which can be used against the purchase of your clubs if you decide to go ahead with a purchase.
Or for just £35 you can get either a 45minute lesson on FlightScope with an email of the session sent to you for your records afterwards. If you're passing, pop into the shop and we will talk you through it all.
Have a great week folks.
Short and sweet for this week's tip of the week. There is absolutely no rule/recommendation that when making a swing the club should reach the 'parallel position' (see the picture, red line) at the top of the swing.
This week with Chris we shortened up the swing a touch (see the picture, blue line) and what a difference it made to his consistency of strike not to mention accuracy. Having a shortened backswing is far more economical and will help overall consistency. Give it a try the next time you're out on the links.
Get your game into shape this spring and hit the ground running for the 2017 playing season.
Golf lesson vouchers are great gifts for all occasions and are not restricted to members of the golf club, so if you have a friend who is a member at another club but would like to treat them to a golf lesson, pop in and see us.
Golf lesson prices are as follows:
- £25 for a 45 minute lesson
- Buy a block, buy 5 lessons and get one FREE - £125 for 6 x 45 minute lessons
- 9-hole playing lesson £50
Launch monitor lesson on FlightScope £35 for 45 minutes

Q. Bob is playing his tee shot on the 2nd hole, during his downswing the club head separated from the shaft. Bob continued his swing with the now headless shaft and completely missed the ball. Did he make a stroke?
A. Yes. Had the head separated on his backswing then no penalty was incurred as a stroke is defined as the "forward movement of the club" and a shaft by itself is not a club. However in this case as he had started his downswing the stroke counts. Rule4-1a. Decisions 14/2 and 14/3.
