This week Paul came along for a lesson. We worked on his set up in particular which led to a greater consistency in strike and accuracy. Sometimes it's the small adjustments that make the biggest differences. 

 

You will notice that we put a couple of sticks on the ground whilst Paul was hitting balls. These are hugely effective as alignment aids and can help with swing path when practising amongst other things. A set of alignment sticks will cost you just £9.99 here in the pro shop. It is undoubtedly one of the best investments you can make if you are thinking of doing any form of practise.

Q. Bob is playing his tee shot on the 2nd hole, during his downswing the club head separated from the shaft. Bob continued his swing with the now headless shaft and completely missed the ball. Did he make a stroke?

Q. Kenny, Jimmy and Hugh are playing in the monthly medal. Kenny is last to tee off on the 12th hole but unfortunately carves his drive onto the beach. Instead of walking back to his golf bag which he had left behind the 10th green he asked jimmy for another ball. Again he carves his drive onto the beach. This time he asks Hugh for a spare ball which his finishes on the fairway. Is it permissible to borrow items of equipment from other players? 

A. Yes. Rule 4-4a prohibits a player from borrowing a club from another player on the course but the Rules do not prevent a player from borrowing other items of equipment (balls, towels, gloves, tees etc.) from another player or an outside agency. Decision 5-1/5.
