I have now made my return to work. Still hobbling along on crutches but due to see my knee specialist next Tuesday. I am hopeful to be getting rid of the crutches shortly, which will allow me to start teaching again so that I can whip all of your games into shape for the start of the season.

Q. Graham and Johnny are partners in the summer four-ball competition. On the 4th green Graham has a long putt for a five, while Johnny has a shorter putt, on a similar line, for a four. Their opponents concede Grahams shot. Graham subsequently putts out, providing Johnny with a good read. Is this permitted?

Q. Garry and Sam are playing a match. Both players left the 17th green believing that Sam had won the match 2&1. However, they later realised that in fact Sam was only 1 up at that point. The matter was referred to the Committee. What is the ruling?
A. Since there was no suggestion that intentionally wrong information had been given, the match stands as played, with Sam the winner. Rule 2-3, Decision 2-3/1.
