This week the juniors took to the course in a different manner. Twenty one juniors and six volunteers took to the fairways and tees on Sunday morning to tidy up the golf course and repair divots and pitch marks. The kids were also taught how to rake bunkers properly and to appreciate the great golf course they are members of.

The younger kids also enjoyed a flying visit from Santa on Sunday as he gave them all a small gift in the build up to Christmas. Magic Malky also kept them all entertained prior to Santa's arrival. They all seemed to have a great afternoon. Judging by their enthusiasm let's hope that Santa is well prepared for Christmas Day this year.

Winter Hours

We are now operating in winter hours. The shop opening times are as follows for the winter months. 

- Weekdays 08:30am - 15:30pm 
- Weekends 08:30am - 15:30pm 

On Medal days the shop will open at 07:30am.

We sell gift vouchers to any denomination as well as golf lesson vouchers which are always a fantastic gift for anyone of any ability. Q. Derek and Alan are partners in the Clubs Winter foursome competition. Derek was practising putts on the 11th green after Alan had played the tee shot on the 12th hole. What's the ruling?

Did you get last week's rule correct?? 

Q. Gareth and Mark are partners in the Clubs Winter foursome competition. Gareth hits a fantastic drive at the 6th hole but the ball finishes in a greenside bunker. Mark plays the bunker shot but fails to get the ball out and in frustration takes a swing with his club into the sand. This action does not improve the position of the ball in the bunker so Gareth plays a perfect shot which finishes in the hole. What's the ruling? 

A. In a foursome match the word player includes the partner. In these circumstances, Gareth and Mark incur a match play penalty of loss of hole. Rule 13-4, Decision 29/5.
